Edward Avila

Today I would like introduce you guys to 2 persons that I liked the music they created. His name is Edward Avila and Aoora (Trophy Cat). They both produce music that I considered is not like those pop style nowadays. The music have an aesthetic feels to it and are very subtle in terms of composing. 

Edward himself is a youtuber mostly making videos about Korean beauty, trends and culture. For me, he is a very funny and real person as in he is just being himself. Let’s just stay that way. Haters gonna hate as what Taylor Swift said. I wish we could be friends, maybe, not sure. LOL!!!

Aoora himself is a musician in the first place. He is active as a member of a boy group called Double-A. I knew the group through a music performance on tv where they perform a song called “So Crazy”. Instantly, I like the song and the composing of the song. I do decided that I should give attention for what out next from them. Then I heard nothing. T-T anyway can we be friends? XD

I will learn hard to pick up Korean language so that I can speak Korean fluently.

Okay, let’s talk about the music.

The first song they came out is called “Stay”. The rhythm is very catchy and relax like I will play this song while I do the morning run and have a brain dump at the same time. I love the piano part that went in smoothly with the electronic sounds. I will classified this as EDM which is a genre that is so popular during this past few years. The song start with English lyrics and when it comes to bridge it transition into Korean. I love that part very much.

If I would to sing this in front of my friends this have given me chance to show off my Korean language. Just joking. I’m not confident with my singing voice though except when I am by myself.

About the video, I love the filter they put on it to make everything look pastel-ish and cute. I also love how Edward can and dare to wear the florally shirt though…Hahahaha…sorry XD

I have a lot questions to ask, first where did you get the contact lens? The colour are so beautiful. Though I am unable to wear contact lens due to my dry eyes. The contact lens just won’t stick nicely to my eyeball and move accordingly. So I’m jealous and curious.

Second, can I know where to buy the shirt though? It is CUTE.  Third, where to get that white shoes and that brown / black shoes? XD…..Too many questions to ask. Just one last questions, can I have that makeup on me too? LOL..

Now let’s satisfy our visual pleasure.

2^nd song that they came out called “Body”. As always the aesthetic feel to the song still there. The first impression that I have when I first heard the song is that the rhythms sound familiar. When I went back and replay the first song that they came out there are familiarity in the beats or melody or whatever you call that. (Not professional, don’t judge)

For me personally this song is more upbeats than the first one. It also has summer vibe to the song which is being indicated in the beginning of the video with a phrase “Summer Reading”.  When compare to the first song, the later one focus on overall composition like the lyrics and the beats. Whereas the first song most of the part is just the music being the centre of the attention. Is not bad consider you have to let peoples know what kind of music style that you in and you are going to create.

In this song they decided to include a choreography which I’m dying to master. If it was me, I wouldn’t have courage to dance in front of the peoples because I not sure what I look like when I move my hands and legs and doing actions LOL…it did be funny though. I’m impressed that they did take time to come up with a set choreography to fit the song considering how hard it is to create a song already.

The scene that I will play this song is when I went to a beach and sunbathing and running on the sands. Plus Edward’s hair on the video is on point. I bleach my hair and dyed blue with pink once. If there is another chance I would bleach again to dye that color.  As always love the makeup, love the contact lens, and love the clothes and this time the place that they film in. 

Not long ago they also came up with a new song called “Beauty”. Overall feeling I have for this song is autumn/ fall vibe as all the colour theme are cool and dark. The main concept for the video is the still objects or stiff posture or the expressionless face. From my personally thinking is that the video is trying to convey the message of natural beauty as it is. (get what I trying to say?) the originality and simplicity of beauty?

Another concept that they have is the contrasting colour that they have in their clothing. Black and white is the simplest and basic colour compares to others. Which to me, I think that they trying to tone down the visual part of the music and focusing on the simplicity and the music itself. With the name of the song ‘Beauty”, I think they trying to tell us to appreciate the nature of beauty. I personally wished that I could be beautiful while being expressionless and stiff effortlessly.  

This music is totally my kind of music and suits my taste. Is so simple yet fascinating, even things might look plain and simple but it is how the beauty itself look like. The composition is a mix between both previous songs. If you listen carefully you still can identify some melody to be very familiar. Nonetheless they make a breakthrough with trying out new thing which is vocal harmonizing which is very impressive for me. Because one person have to sing in a high notes and another with a lower notes without sounding two totally different sound.

Onto the fashion style, it is totally my kind of taste. If I must say one thing that caught my attention is the glass wore by aoora in the video. It look so cool and chic. Although these kind of glass is often wear by the elderly but in here it could be a fashionable piece. I would wear what aoora wear in this video and walk around all day. Plus the makeup is on fleek. This time they incorporate a hand dance which is very complicated for a person like me that I can’t coordinate my limbs when I move. Nevertheless I must say this is quite creative.
