There is a graphic version of the book wrote by Neil Gaiman with the same name. I haven’t read the book which I have not get my hands on after so many youtubers recommended it. Because of the book title I intrigue to know more and it does left an impression on me. No until later that I found out that they come out with a drama series. I’m always interested in getting into story talking about god, ghost and supernatural stuff.

When I first start to watch this drama I can’t understand a thing about the story line. There are no introduction to any of the background and side story of the character except Shadow Moon. There were so many character coming in and out. The drama brings the viewers straight into the story line instead of giving extra preface. Therefore it is recommend that to look at the introduction of the website before start to watch the show or if you have read the book which may be easier.

One thing to note is that the story line is a bit open, I mean like 18++. 😈😈😈

The main color of in this uses grey as their main color filter. Therefore sometimes it is necessary to adjust the brightness of the screen or else it is too dark to see anything. It is no hard to notice that no matter how bright or colorful the object are, all are being saturated in grey color. For me, the grey filter are meant for sad and horror movies. In this drama, is more like desperate and lost.

 Personally I liked the intro of every episode. “Domineering” is the word that I can think of to describe the intro. The intro uses different element from different religious to represent the content of the drama. More importantly, the intro uses the color of red and blue as the main color. It perfectly represents the neon light similar to what human describe as hallucination. The music of the intro plays a role too.

Now, let me talk about some character that I liked and hated.

The character that I liked

Anasi

He is an ancient god that have something to do with spider. I like him when he speaks because of the way his tone when he speaks and how there are up and down and emphasis in his speech. 

The character himself is very upbeat and cheerful. Especially, when Mr Wednesday and shadow went to him to get tailored suits then he wanted to tell a story.

Leprechaun 

When I first saw this character, I was like he is so tall and big compared to other actors in the drama. The only thing I kind of want to get rid of is his beard. I like this character is when he is so helpless when his luck is gone and he is stuck when laura moon. Sometimes he is funny too.

 I like the story about him where he had exist for over a decade. Before I think he is so violent but after knowing his story I started to like him more. Somehow I wish he is some kind of prince or king though, don’t know why.

The tech boy

Oh boy, I must say this boy is so fashion. I like his style in terms of hair and clothes. There is this one set of clothes that I really like in the last episode in season 1. 

He is the only character in this drama that wear colorful dress. I think this perfectly represented his behavior of straightforward and blunt.

 He is also very funny where he drive Mr. World to a place without following the navigation and tell the navigator know where he is going.  There are one piano song that i liked in his part of the story with a human boy. I wouldn't spoil much here. His stories is kind of sad and I want him back.

Mr.Ibis

To me he is still a mysterious character. The only thing that I know is that he write and create story. He own a thick and huge notebook for him to write in. Sometimes he observes into very little tiny detail. 

The way he speak always very clam and slow even Anasi complaint about him. He operates a funeral parlour for decade and claim that he had seen a lot.  Another thing I had been wondering is that the thick glasses of his. I wonder how the actor are able to see things when acting.

The character that I hated

Laura moon

After watching the whole season 1 of the show, the one character that I hate is Shadow’s wife. Originally they could have lives a very happy life because Shadow is a good man. But Laura is somehow dissatisfied with her life and try to persuade her husband to commit a crime by stealing. She even try to kill herself with bug spray but is unsuccessful. Even worst she make out with her best friend’s husband and caused car accident.

Even after she came back alive and try to save Shadow from the chaos, I would like to just tell her to bug off. I’m kind of upset of how she is so ungrateful of everything she have. She have that one chance before and now she came back as a dead person begging for another chance. For me, hell no, go back to where you belong.

The actress herself is so thin which makes me jealous of. She wasn’t that tall but overall still look good. I’m hoping that one day I could be as thin as she is.

Talking about the scene of whole season 1 that really leaves an impression on me is the last episode. The reason for that is that the piano song that they use as a material to tell the story. I wanted to know the song desperately. Plus the protagonist of that episode looks good too. I think his name is Andrea Kim.

The series is still ongoing so I’m very excited for how the story is going to develop.  Currently season 2 is available, so go and watch it. For anyone who liked fantasy genre go ahead and give it a try, you might like it.  I will leave you guys with my review here, do let me know what you think about this drama series if you have watch it.
